Christina's works center on the grounding traditions and landscapes surrounding her southern upbringing and formative background and degree in art and interior design. Her lifelong love and pursuit of art and refined studio foundations are reflected in the delicately layered use of color in each of her paintings which are currently a study of abstracted florals, cloudscapes, and low country seascapes and marsh scenes in watercolor and mixed media on canvas and paper. She also practices abstract color studies derived and inspired from the palettes of her other works in between each subject matter. Her paintings build in layers of impressionist brushstrokes to capture her favored subject matters with a focus on rendering the tension of the motion caught in a captured moment in nature. Her vocation is to employ the complex interactions of light and color with distinctive brushstrokes or watermarks to create both scenic snapshots and detailed renderings that are abstracted in a way that feels fresh and current yet timelessly engaging.
